The 2021 HVIA National Apprentice Challenge is an exciting opportunity for heavy vehicle mechanical apprentices at any stage of your study!
What is the Challenge?
The “hands-on” competition will be staged live at the 2021 Brisbane Truck Show. Teams of two apprentices will be selected to represent each of HVIA’s three National Regions:
- Eastern Region – QLD, NSW & ACT
- Southern Region – VIC, TAS & SA
- North/Western Region – NT & WA
Each regional team works on one of two identical Isuzu FX-series prime movers to identify and rectify a series of programmed faults as the clock ticks.
How do you win?
The winning team is the team that first successfully identifies and repairs all faults or the team that rectifies the most faults within the allowed time frame.
Who can enter?
Participation is open to heavy vehicle mechanical apprentices employed in the heavy vehicle industry.
The competition showcases heavy vehicle mechanical apprenticeships to people of all ages. It also aims to promote and foster a professional image of the heavy vehicle industry to the wider community.
