Mercedes-Benz Trucks confirms debut for all-electric eActros at upcoming Brisbane Truck Show

Mercedes-Benz Trucks will present the all-electric eActros for the first time in Australia at next month’s Brisbane Truck Show.

The ground-breaking truck, which produces zero local emissions, will be the star of the Mercedes-Benz stand from May 18 to 21 at Brisbane’s Convention & Exhibition Centre.

The battery-electric eActros is focused on heavy-duty short radius distribution and development trucks have been working away in select fleets in Europe since 2018.

The eActros is a technology leader and has impressed European customers with its advanced design, strong performance and efficiency.

Mercedes-Benz Trucks will soon begin a local validation program for the eActros in Australia and New Zealand.

Daimler Truck already has considerable experience with electric trucks in Australia. It was the first manufacturer to launch an all-electric truck when Fuso introduced the pioneering eCanter locally in 2021.

Mercedes-Benz Trucks Australia Pacific Director, Andrew Assimo, says he is thrilled to bring the eActros to the Brisbane Truck Show.

“We can’t wait to present this incredible heavy-duty electric truck to the public in Brisbane,” he says.

“The local debut of the eActros represents the start of a new chapter for sustainable road transport in our region and the excitement around this vehicle is incredible.“

The eActros validation program is designed to ensure the eActros specification is tailored for the unique conditions of Australia and New Zealand and meets the specific requirements of local customers.

Initially, four eActros trucks will get to work in Australia and one unit will hit the road in New Zealand, with additional units to follow.

While Mercedes-Benz Trucks is keen to move forward with battery electric technology, it is also proud to help traditional internal combustion engine customers drive down their emissions.

Mercedes-Benz Trucks led the way in Australia with the first full range of Euro 6 heavy trucks with the new Actros in 2016 and its remarkable fuel efficiency is renowned across the industry. Further improvements of the Mercedes-Benz diesel Actros engines are also on the way.
