JOST Australia recently had the opportunity to show our support to drought stricken farmers in New South Wales through the New South Wales Hay Run organised by Daimler Trucks.

Farming has always been an important part of the regional NSW economy but in 2018 it was reported that 61% of the state was in drought while 39% was drought affected. This has severely threatened the livelihoods of our farmers and farming communities.

As Australia bands together to support our farmers, our team at JOST Australia feels that it is our duty to contribute to the effort. The farming industry is one that is very closely tied to the heavy vehicle industry, and we empathise with the difficulties many of our valued customers and friends are currently facing.

We are thankful to the team at Daimler Trucks for organising the New South Wales Hay Run and giving us an opportunity to show our support for this cause. We helped sponsor three trucks that were part of a convoy of nearly eighty vehicles, transporting five A-Trailers with hay bales and one A-Trailer with pallets of drinks, water and cleaning liquids. The pallets were delivered to farmers in the Dubbo area, while the hay bales were delivered to farmers in the Tamworth and Dunedoo regions of NSW. We believe it is important to give back to the farming community and we are very proud to be part of such a worthy cause.

While we are back at the Brisbane Truck Show this year, we are looking forward to touching base with all of our customers and friends in the farming industry to explore more ways in which we can continue to provide support as the drought persists. If you know of upcoming Hay Runs or other initiatives, we would love to hear from you. Head down to Stand 78 and have a chat with our team. Let’s work together to help our drought stricken farmers.
